FAQs
How do you prevent unauthorised sharing or downloads?
Videos are streamed through our platform with Digital Rights Management (DRM) and device locking. No downloads, no links to share. Each access is tied to a specific parent’s account.
Who can access the videos?
Only parents or carers who are authorised by the school can view event videos. Each account is verified before access is granted.
How much work is it for school staff?
Very little! Schools just upload raw footage—Sylenze handles editing, compliance checks, distribution, and parent payments. There’s no need for extra admin, IT setup, or technical knowledge.
What about safeguarding and parental consent?
Our platform includes a consent workflow and options to blur faces or exclude pupils as required. Only children with consent appear in videos.
How quickly can we get started?
Most schools can onboard within a week. Our team will guide you through a simple setup and support you every step of the way.
Can I share the video with family?
To protect children’s privacy and comply with GDPR, videos can only be viewed by the parent(s) authorised by the school. This helps keep everyone safe and secure.
What devices does Sylenze work on?
Any modern smartphone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection. No app installation required—just log in and stream securely from your browser.
Is the platform accessible for users with disabilities?
Yes, Sylenze is designed to meet accessibility standards and works with screen readers and other assistive technology.
How is Sylenze different from YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive?
Sylenze is built specifically for schools, with privacy, security, and compliance at its core. Unlike generic platforms, there’s no risk of public sharing, no downloads, and GDPR is fully addressed.
